Sorry im dumb lol. Enigma317: i downloaded Z3r0x's mod, republic at war, and i think the covenant at war.
I would like to try Z3r0x's mod most Z3r0x's from where did you get it, can't download it from empireatwar.filefront.com, just get a timeout. So for republic at war (really easy one) you shall have downloaded a 1.5 GByte file, use 7zip (/) to extract it to any place you like. Afterwards (you could read the readme;) you start the republic at war.exe, this is a normal installer, click install, next, accept the license agreement, next, typical, install, delete temp, finish. Check on your desktop shall be a shortcut now, doubleclick to start. If you want to play in another language (so not English) let me know;) covenant at war?

Goodaltgamer: Ok, just downloaded CAW, you are aware that this is only a mod for skirmish and not for Galactic conquest? Joshayt: Hi Guys! I just downloaded Empire at War: FOC and am running it through my mac via Porting Key:) I'd like to install Republic at War mod for it but am struggling to understand where the files would go and.bat files having a mac. The program runs great through Porting Key, but getting a Mod to work isn't haha Any help would be appreciated!
Sorry joshayt never saw your reply;) bat files will not work natively on Mac. Don't know this one, got a link?;) If my assumption is correct, you would also just need to create a subfolder in your empire-directory called mods, extract the RAW files into there (they do have a zip version of RAW as well) and change the startup line you use for starting swfoc with the parameters: swfoc LANGUAGE=ENGLISH MODPATH=Mods RAW RAW, if you called the subdirectory RAW, otherwise replace;).

Defcon Mods Install Guide
On all platforms, there are now user installed and system installed mods. Made controversial bugfixes optional that way, they all get disabled via the included Hardcore mod. Subs can now nuke anywhere. Futile attack orders (Fighter vs Nuke) are ignored. You may attack your own battleships with planes.
You can join servers from the recent games list. Navigation improvements: pathfinding now works properly across the seam, blind spot improvements, fleets no longer break up on the seam.: Download and run. README.txt is displayed on installation.: Download, untar and run the included defcon script. README.txt file is included.: Download, open and either run the included DEFCON app bundle directly or copy it into /Applications. It is an unviersal binary and should run on all Macs, PPC and Intel, with OSX 10.4 (Tiger) and above.
README.txt file is included in the image. Previous version (beta): 1.60.1.2 This version comes without sound (again), they are available separately in. Changes since 1.60.1.1:.
Fixed the new bugs from the 1.60.1.1 list. Bombers forget about their nuke target when you switch to naval combat mode. Bombers display their nuke target set before DEFCON 1, waiting to get activated.
Planes display both attack and navigation target. File location changes: Linux saves everything except debug.txt into /.defcon now, Windows saves screenshots in My Pictures/Defcon Screenshots, all other files in My Documents/My Games/Defcon. Planes now need to wait one reload cycle after taking off before firing their first shot. Idle bombers with nuke target will not turn towards that right away if they can't fire yet; they go straight until they enter nuke range at about the same time they can launch.: Download and run. README.txt is displayed on installation.: Download, untar and run the included defcon script. README.txt file is included.: Download, open and either run the included DEFCON app bundle directly or copy it into /Applications.

Previous version (beta): 1.60.1.1 This version comes without sound (again), they are available separately in. Changes since 1.60.1.0:. Rendering performance increase. glFinish used on Windows, too, to avoid input lag. Do not predict too far ahead when there is high lag.
Makes watching playbacks in fast forward look less odd. EnableWorldEvents no longer crashes immediately and kind of works. Saucers have been given more health, a nuke would kill them instantly; now it takes five. Linux window manager improvements by multimania. Bomber navigation targets are now yellow in SRBM mode if no nuke target has been selected. Known new bugs:.
Bombers move towards targets they're firing on after returning from a bombing run. Planes shoot right when they take off. They should have to reload first. (Previously, they would have been able to shoot from the start, but would only start firing after reaching their first waypoint.). Order rendering is incomplete around the map seam. Ship route preview animation is not shown.
Manual plane land commands are horribly misinterpreted.: Download and run. README.txt is displayed on installation.: Download, untar and run the included defcon script. Fixes since 1.60.0.0:. Many leakfixes. Most were not actually ongoing leaks, just data not getting freed up on exit, but many were. Performance improvements: game update and thus resyncing, reconnecting and late joins are over 100% faster.
Planes now pick their landing spots with more care to make sure as many of them as possible make it home and, as a secondary goal in the case of bombers, can be restocked with nukes. Fighters never retaliate, can be ordered to land even if enemies are around and all planes, when ordered to land on a moving carrier, will head for a suitable rendezvous point instead of the carrier's current position. Planes fire at targets whenever they can, even while landing or taking off to their first waypoint. Bomber nuke targtes can be changed as often as you like, and bombers will head for their nuke target after they reached a separately set waypoint. Bomber orders are rendered properly, red for the attack target and blue for the navigation target. Not just red for the navigation target if a bombing run was aborted. Reload timer bug fixed, and AA targets can be selected manually.
Target changes are displayed immediately in the orders view, not just after the first shot is fired. Airplane ranges in small world mode are properly increased, unit credits are adapted to all world scales. Score overflow bugs fixed. Silos can now commit suicide if you order them to, the nukes no longer go to NANtucket.
Known new bugs:. MOD window crashes if you select one mod, then another. Probably a consequence of a leakfix.: Download and run.
README.txt is displayed on installation.: Download, untar and run the included defcon script. README.txt file is included.: Download, open and either run the included DEFCON app bundle directly or copy it into /Applications. It is an unviersal binary and should run on all PPC Macs (Intel confirmed broken), with OSX 10.4 (Tiger) and above. README.txt file is included in the image. Old version (beta): 1.60.0.0 This version is a first test for distribution and comes without sound.
It already fixes many things, check out the included ChangeLog.txt for details. The most important ones:. The game properly takes care no enemies can give orders to your units. The chat window is now friendlier, clicks on the arrows make larger jumps and it doesn't resize itself any more. Chat actions (/me) are now displayed properly in subchannels. Plane movement now makes more sense, they no longer make apparently random turns, they can't be juggled up the arctic and they turn faster when ordered to turn around.
Carriers no longer move towards the target if you order them to launch fighters or bombers. Various problems with the map seam eliminated: nukes no longer go crazy if they cross the seam twice, nukes will always pick the shorter path around earth (as indicated by the target line), single ship fleets no longer cross land after passing the seam. Smooth lines work again and the whole map is viewable on ultra-widescreen displays.: Download and run. README.txt is displayed on installation.: Download, untar and run the included defcon script. README.txt file is included.: Download, open and either run the included DEFCON app bundle directly or copy it into /Applications. It is an unviersal binary and should run on all PPC Macs, with OSX 10.4 (Tiger) and above. README.txt file is included in the image.
Versioning explained The version of MINICOM consists of four parts, let's take the hypothetical version '1.70.6.12 MINICOM' as an example. The first part is the base version, it's the version of DEFCON used as starting point, expanded to at least two decimal digits after the dot. In this case, it's '1.70', so this would be based on DEFCON 1.7. It is to be read and interpreted as a fractional number because that's the way it works in DEFCON; 1.20 is higher than 1.199999.
The second part is the major version, '6' in this case. It is bumped up whenever a change gets included that breaks network compatibility. It is read as a normal integer number.
The third part is the minor version, '12' here. It counts changes that do not break compatibility and also is just a regular number. The last part is MINICOM, which marks the branch. Other branches may exist in the future with other development focus. Stable versions with the same base and major version from the same branch are compatible with each other. '1.70.6.12 MINICOM' is compatible with '1.70.6.0 MINICOM' and '1.70.6.19 MINICOM', but not '1.70.7.0 MINICOM'. Beta versions may not be compatible with anything but themselves.
